Become A Writer For Online Content

By rhutton On February 8, 2010 Under Affiliate Topics, Internet Mktg, Monetization Strategies, ProBlogging Tips, REVIEWS, Search Engine Optimization, Social Media

You don’t need a college degree, you don’t have to be a journalist to be an internet writer – you just have to know how to string words together in a meaningful way.  And it has to make sense.  It’s not hard at all – and I want to explain the whys and hows.

Demand For Content

Owners of websites need a constant supply of fresh, original content if their sites are to rank well with the search engines.  This is imperative to their success. As the amount of websites and online businesses increases, so too does the demand for internet writers and the original content they provide.

The owners of successful internet businesses quickly realized that their time was better used producing original products and services instead of writing content.  So they look to freelancers to provide it.

It’s A Bloggers World

Blogs (web logs) are becoming more popular over the more traditional ’static’ web sites, and they are becoming more popular with online businesses.  These rank well with the search engines because they are (or should be) updated frequently, sometimes as often as daily.  Blog posts are quick and easy to put up, and they are another area that freelances are contracted for.  The types of blogs can vary from caring for your dog, the best housekeeping tips, travelling in China to internet marketing techniques.

Article Attraction

Perhaps one of the most in-demand internet writing job categories is that of writing articles. These are usually between 350 and 550 words in length and are often submitted to article distribution sites as well as being placed on the owners’ website.

Ghostwriting and Copyright

When you are contracted to write articles, ebooks, blogs etc it is usually on a ghostwriting basis.  This means that your client will put his or her name to it when it is published.  The writer relinquishes all copyright on payment for the work.  You are unable to publish it under you own name, or on-sell it to another client.

There are lots more opportunities available to make money by writing on the internet – no experience necessary!
