Keyword Research Services – A Godsend Or A Rip Off?

If you aren’t a guru then you may (like me) find keyword research difficult. Actually I can find loads of keywords. The problem is though that most are next to useless, or at least seem to be.

When I used Google’s keyword tool I trusted the results 100%. I had no reason to doubt the leading player’s figures. Sadly, that’s not always how it goes.

Any data you get isn’t accurate. However it would have been when they collated it. I discovered the answer almost by pure chance.

I went for a key phrase with around 5,000 pages competing against it. Great I thought, I can nail that. So I set out putting articles out. Lots of articles.

Pretty soon I noticed over 9000 competitors. I was shocked at this huge difference. Looked like it was going to be hard work. It turned out that my articles were showing on these sites and ranking for the keyword.

The point I’m trying to get across is that had I looked at the keyword with 9000 competitors, I would have left it alone. A lot of these sites were ranking with my article so I had a lot of competition but most of it was my own articles. A win win situation if you ask me.

I got lucky on that keyword but I suspected I may not get lucky again so I made the decision to try out a keyword research service. I was looking to get some decent keywords delivered on a daily basis. I calculated the cost against the time it would take me and it seemed a value for money concept.

Of the keyword research services on offer I opted to try Travis Sago’s Instacash. After all, he’s the king of the bum marketers. Bum marketing only costs my time so it’s my kind of marketing.

If I can get a keyword or two in my in box each day then that saves me valuable time. At least a two hour saving. Two hours or so to me is quite valuable. If I put the time saved up against the daily cost it shows clearly there’s value to be had.

I get a lot of emails from gurus banging on about outsourcing. I see this as an outsourcing project. I’m giving my keyword research to someone else to do. That’s outsourcing.

You can find out just how the trial went over at my site. I mentioned earlier about getting thousands of articles published for a good keyword. I’ll show you how I did that at my site.
